Come and learn to write code for a mythical 8-bit video game computer called the "PICO-8", with two expert game programmers from Activision, Michael Vance and Wade Brainerd. No matter if you're an experienced hacker or if you've never typed a letter of code, we'll have a great time and make some awesome games together.

Topics covered will include a complete introduction to computer programming in the context of simple 2D video games, a tour of the PICO-8 virtual game system and its development tools, and guidance through more advanced topics like animation, collision detection and AI.

Students should bring a computer unless otherwise arranged, and should be comfortable typing and with basic equations such as addition and multiplication.
